Paul's book is on sale at the local store. Times Photo Mt Pulaski High School Senier-of-the-Month Haley Bowles Haley is the Daughter of, Randy and Deborah Bowles of Mt Pulaski Haley is a four year honor roll sN- dent, three year Spanish Club member, a four- year member of the award-win- ning Lady Toppers volleyball team, a four year Spirit Squad member and the treasurer of the senior class. Haley has won numerous awards, including her selection as Logan County Board October Student-of-the- Month, as well as Sons of the Ameri- can Legion essay contest winner. She won the 2009 and 2010 Lady Topper awards,, and was named to the Mt. Pulaski High School Fall Festival All Tournament Team. She was named .to the 2009 Sangamo All Conference First Team and was a 2010 unanimous selec- tion to the Sangamo All Conference First Team. She was also a Herald and Review Athlete Profile Pick, and was recently named to the. 2010 State Journal Register 'all-area Volleyball First Team. Haley has been a member of Central Illini volleyball club and has helped coach the Junior Central Illini club teams, iuring high school her summers have been spent working as a lifeguard at the Mt, Pulaski Park District pool. She has also helped with Vacation Bible School at Zion Lutheran Church. Haley plans to study dental hygiene. She has been accepted at both Southern Illinois University in Carbonda]e and Park- land College in Champaign. The Senior-of-the-Month program is co-sponsored by John- son's Food Center of Mr. Pulaski and Mt. Pulaski Pharmacy. Monthly winners receive $100 savings bonds and are digible to compete for the $1000 Senior-of-the-Year award. Samantha Nichols Signs Letter of Intent Samantha Nichols signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for Lincoln Christian University Joining Samantha for the ceremony were herLady Toppers teammates and her parents Michael and Julie Nichols. Times Photo 2011 New Year's Eve Kickoff Celebration Mt. Pulaski 175th (1836 -2011) Our 2011 "Year of Celebration" kicks off on New Year's Eve Dec. 31, 2010--on our town square. Plans are now being finalized. The plans include food & drink; music, shopping, children's activities, fireworks and a ball drop at midnight. The Mt. Pulaski 175th Committee hopes you will join us for the first in a series of events to be held throttghoul the year to help celebrate Mt. Pulaski's 175th Birthday. Many of our retail shops will be open as well as our courthouse. Our up-town restaurants will be open and the 175th committee will be serving a Soup & Chili Supper at the VFW Hall on the South Side of the Square. Hours for all the activities will be from 6:00 pm until midnight when our ball will drop and fireworks will be set Off to begin our "Year of Celebration".
