FIRST SLAB TO CHESTNUT LAID AUG. 26, 1938 (Aug. 25, 1938) The first slab on Route 161, be- tween Mount Pulaski and Chest- nut will be laid tomorrow morn- ning unless something unforseen happens to prevent Superintend- ent Slattery from giving the final word. The slab will be poured two miles east of Tomlinson Siding and will come west. This stretch will take about two weeks to complete and then the stretch between Mount Pulaski and the siding will be poured. After that the rest of the stretch to Chest- nut will be poured. It was panned also to start pouring slab on the Chestnut to Kenney six-mile strip, Friday, so that the entire slab from Mount Pulaski to Kenney will be com- pleted about the same time. This is a distance of a little over 12 miles. Vernon Lindsay, Coach; Herschel Shrader, L. F. Fulwile,r, prin- Stella's Beauty Shop ! -come-true for you and yours.
