Myers Bros., clothiers, were located just north, then Huck's store and a meat mar- Depression Technique (Oct. 27, 19J) Here's another interesting story in connection with present con- ditions: "A woman drove up to a fill- ing station and bought some gas- oline for her car. She asked the nan if he would accept the pack- age she had, instead of money. The station keeper undid the wrapping and discovered a smok- -! ham. It looked like a fair e- hange to him. O.K., he said, I'll take it. So, he 'rang up' the ham and the woman went hez way with the gasoline. "The ne,t day a grocery store owner was in the station, saw the ham, and laughingly inquired if the gas man had gone into the meat business. He explained the matter, whereupon the groc. eryman said, 'Why, I sold her that ham on credit'.." -..ex.
