(tO Rotary Olub Met Mt. Pulaski Rotary Club met Thursday, Dec. 9th at the Methodist Church with President Jack Amos presiding. Guests were Postmaster Harry Van Hook, Police Chief Clyde Shrove, Bill Copeland of the Mt. Pula- ski Tool and Die Com- pany and Mayor John Biesemeier. A delicious chicken cacciatori dinner was pre- pared and served by Bob Stein fort. Ray Shadwick was pro- gram chairman and Jim Stricldand of the Depart- ment of Public Health Division of Medic Aid Service, who is Trauma Coordinator at ALM Hos- pital at Lincoln gave a most interesting talk on this new program which is being set up by the State of Illinois and the Federal Government. According to Mr. Strick- land, their primary goal is to reduce loss of life due to accidental injuries. They plan to do this by getting the patient to the correct place of treatment in the fastest time possible. Other major programs of this new trauma treatment net- work would be fast mo- bilization of medical man- power and equipment in time of disaster by use of computers,helioapter.etc. Mr. Stricklan stated the minimum requirement for becoming a trauma coordinator was six years of military service and at least 18 months of combat medic duty. Any group wishing to have Mr. Strickland as a speaker to explain this new program may do so by contacting him. Next Rotary meeting will be Thurs., Dec. 16th at noon at the Methodist Church.
