A glass of water was left at Mt Pulaski City Hall overnight recently. The glass of discolored water and sedi- ment was from a Parke Street area resident. In the Parke Street area, residents have had problems with discolored water and sediment in the water. Parke Street resi- dents have been repeatedly calling on the city to do something about the water problem as their frustration over the situa- tion has been rising. The city's initial response has been to flush a few hydrants on Park Street to try and alleviate the discolored water issue in that area. Times photo These Times By Mike Lakin Ed Combs has now reached 56-years with Culligan Soft Water. That's 56 years of employment. Ed's goal is to reach 60-years with Culligan and when he does he will be 80. What is Ed's secret? He says he really likes what he does and when you like what you do... why retire. Why in deed. Ace photographer Allen Schaal has reached a personal milestone. His white Ford Escort's odometer turned over 250,000 miles. Allen says he guesses the secret is following the owner's manual. When he bought the car the manual recommended synthetic oil for every oil change. Allen's fol- lowed that advice and he reports his car just goes right along - and no oil leaks. I guess those owner manuals have valuable advice after all., Speaking of car owner manuals, which school do you follow? Do you re-set your vehicle's dock for the time change, or do you leave it and subtract an hour? Or, for the next sev- eral months is your clock correct until day light savings time returns? FYI - I subtract an hour. Classifieds HUGE GARAGE SALE - - self propelled snow blower, 10am-? Friday & Saturday- Nov. needs carb cleaned, 792-5484 20 & 21, 2 miles North of Mt.
