In Memory-- Watson In Memory-- Donnan ;i it 'L After a long battle with lung cancer, Alan James Watson, 58, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at his home in Elgin, South Carolina. Alan was born December 27, 1952, in Peoria, the son of Loren and Marilyn Watson. He attended Mossville grade school for eight years before his father was transferred to Dallas, Texas, where he graduated from Thomas Jef- ferson High School in 1970. He attended Lon Morris Col- lege in Jacksonville, Texas, on a basketball scholarship and received his associate's degree from there in 1972. He gradu- ated from the University of Illinois in Springfield in 1983. Pulaski High School Golf News Last time I promised to give some news about the Junior Varsity team also. Our first match was with Meridian High School. We lost the match 204 - 210. For those of you who aren't familiar with golf, the lower score is the one that wins. Our medalist for that match was Matthew Holmes with a 50. The next day, we played Hartem. We lost that match 192 - 197. Our medalist for that match was Bryan McCawley with a 45. Our 3rd match was against Lincoln and Clinton. The winner of that triangular meet was Lincoln with a 167. Clinton was 2nd with a 206, and we were 3rd with 207. Our medalist for this match was Bryan McCawley with a 47. On the 20th of September, we went to Country Hills golf course at Greenview. We played against Waverly and Greenview. Waverly won by going to the 5th player's scorecard. Their score was 203; Greenview was 2nd with a 203; and we came in 3rd with a 205. Our medalist was Ryan Amidon with a 46. On the 22nd, we went to the Oaks to playa match with the Riverton Junior Varsity. They won 188 - 207. Our med- alist for that match was Ryan Amidon with a 49. On September the 8, the Varsity played a match with LSA Decatur at Hickory Point in Forsythe. LSA won with a 181 to our 191. Our medalist there was Kyle Przykopanski. This gave us a 6 - 3 record going into the Sangamo Conference tournament on Saturday, September I0, In that tournament, we placed 5th out of 7 teams with an 18 hole total of 359. Our low scorer for that tournament was Owen Tschantz with an 84. On Monday, September 12, we played .in the Tomahawk Conference tourna- ment at Country Hills at Greenview. We placed 2nd there with a score of 341 for 18 holes. Our medalist for that tourna- ment was Owen Tschantz with an 82. In a scorecard playoff, Owen received a 5th place individual medal. On September 15, we placed 1st in a triangular meet at Brookhills Golf Course on the west side of Springfield. Our score was 147; Macon-Meridian had 150; and Lutheran High of Spring- field had 167. On the 19th, we played in the Clinton Invitational where we placed 6th out of 13 teams with a 177 for 9 holes. Our medalist for that match was Kyle Przykopanski with a 40. Owen Tschantz had a 43, and our next 3 play- ers: Jacob Stoll, Shawn Knauer, and Christopher Wernsing all had 47's! On September 20, the Varsity also went to Greenview to play in a quadran- gular meet with Lutheran High, Green- view-Athens, and Waverly. Greenview- Athens edged us out of 1st by 1 stroke, 164 to 165. Lutheran High had a 211, and Waverly had a 191. At this point our record was 10 - 4.
