In Memory Ricketts Derek Matthew Ricketts, of Bradenton, FL, died on September 9, 2011 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. Derek was born to John W and Linda "Lin" Humphries Carter on March 24, 1978 in Bloomington. Derek loved to play golf, he had many friends, and he helped many people by being an organ donor. He is survived by his par- ents of Decatur; his daughter Brooklyn Kate Ricketts of Bra- denton; brother David E. Rick- etts of Decatur; sisters: Tina J. (Casey) Arvin of Palm Harbor, FL, and Gina M. (Ryan) Baze- more of Clearwa- ter, FL; adopted sister Nicole Proc- arione of Decatur; maternal grand- mother Martha Humphries of Normal; pater- nal grandfather Wesley Carter of Mt. Pulaski. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother. Services were September 19 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski. Pastor Mark Schleeter officiated. Burial was in Steenbergen Cemetery. Memorials: St. Judes Chil- dren's Hospital.
