Mt Pulaski High School Senior-of-the-Month 6 Cady Lowery Cady is the daughter of Doug and Teena Lowery of Mt. Pulaski. Cady is Co-President of National Honor Society and is the editor of the school year- book. She is a member of Stu- dent Council, Spanish Club, Spirit Squad, Science Olym- piad, World-wide Youth in Sci- ence and Engineering, Prom Committee and Scholastic Bowl. Cady is also a four-year member of the award-winning Lady Topper volleyball team. Cady has been elected class president three of her four years in high school. Cady has the distinction of serving as State President of the Family, Career and Commu- nity Leaders of America., fol- lowing an election last summer at the state FCCLA conven- tion in Springfield. During her involvement with FCCLA, Cady has served as Mt. Pulaski High SchoolChapter President and FCCLA Sec- tion 12 Secretary. She was also a National Gold Medalist in Chapter Showcase Manual. Cady has not yet made her college choice, but she plans to attend a four-year university to major in journalism. Senior-of-the-Month program is co-sponsored by Johnson's Food Center and Mt. Pulaski Phar- macy. Monthly winners receive $50 toward col- lege expenses, and are eligible to compete for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award. Trunk or Treat Zion Lutheran Church & School's (203 S. Pulaski and Holly and Travis Surprenant of Washington are pleased to announce the engagement of their daugh- ter Kyley Wyss to Erich Maxheimer, son of Mike and Suzie Maxheimer of Chestnut. Kyley and Erich are semors at the University of Illinois and will be graduating in May 2014. Kyley is studying Molecular and Cellular Biol- ogy and plans to continue her education in the medical field. Erich is studying Civil Engineering and will be commissioning in the Air Force May 19. Kyley is the granddaughter of John and Dana Wyss of Chetek, WI, Jim and Dianne Elliott of Morton, J and Linda Stoll of Chestnut, and Craig and Sue Surprenant of Keokuk, IA. Erich is the grandson of Earl and Dolores Maxheimer of Mt. Pulaski, June and the Late Charlie Huffer of Lincoln, and Pete and Della Eeten of Pekin. The couple is planning a May 31, 2014 wedding in Mt. Pulaski. Scientists say they can create glowing trees that could take the place of streetlights. You Are Invited G% ]  .
