5 60  Wedding Anniversary Delmar and Harlean Veech celebrated their 60 th Wedding Anniversary with a dinner party for family and Mends October 5. Delmar and the former Bar- bara Harlean Bryson were married October 3, 1953 at the Cornland Christian Church. They are the proud parents of three children - Marcia (Charles) Meyer, Indianapolis, Indiana; Monica Edgecomb, Rochester, Illinois; and Jason (Annette) Veech, Lincoln. They have been blessed with eight wondexl grandchildren - Amy (Jason Dumo) Dannen- berger, San Antonio, Texas; Emily (Jim) Willan, Indianapolis, Indi- ana; Matthew (Julie) Shelton, Springfield; Jenna Edgecomb, Chi- cago-, Molly Edgecomb, St. Louis; Kyle (Nicole Bartelmay) Veech, Jadon Veech, and Gage Veech Lin- coln; step granddaughter Casey (Ethan) Murphy, Peoria; three great-grandchildren - Olivia and Lucas Willan and Clayton Shelton with two more great-grandchildren on the way. Delmar retired from the state of Illinois on January 1, 2003 after 25 years. He was a pilot for the Department of Corrections. Harlean retired from the United States Postal Service on January 1, 2004 after 37 years as Postmaster : of the Cornland Post Office. She served as Director of Meetings and Conventions for 30 years for the National League of Postmas- ters retiring from that position on August 5, 2012. During those years, their chil- dren and grandchildren enjoyed several family vacations gaveling with them to League Conventions all over the United States including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Delmar and Harlean have enjoyed several cruises to various destinations outside the United States. They have toured the United States plus Nova Scotia, Vancouver, and other parts of Canada and also Mexico. A highlight of their travels was a trip to Ireland where they met and visited with sev- eral of Harlean's cousins. They visited the area where her great-grandparents and her grandfather, John H. Bryson, lived before immigrating to America. Since their retirement they have enjoyed spending the winter months at their home in Green Valley, Arizona.
