I11., met in , ,lar monthly session, I, .: ay night, September 14th. All members were present except member William Carlin. Principal business of the meeting was the adoption of the 1971-1972 school budget, the same being on public exhibit for public examination at the Bank of Chestnut for the le- gally required 30 days prior to official adoption. The budget and corres- ponding levy was approv- ed and adopted: Educa- tior, al $67,949.00: Regular Building $18,465.00. Transportation $8,862.00; Fire, Health, Safety $3,693.00; Bond and In- terest Nil: etc.; Total: $98,969.0O. Mrs. Bette Dirks of Lin- coln, Illinois was inter- viewed for the vocal music teaching position and was employed for this posi- tion. A motion was made and unanimously passed for the school to join the Tri - County Educational Association. The District also approved the joining of the school in the I2ogan County School Nursing Project, the latter involv- ing a fee of $2.00 per pupil counting total en- rollment of the school at 104 pupils. Approval was also given to invest $10,000.00 of Educational Fund in sav- ings account, and to trans- fer (or toan) $5,000.00 from the 'Educational Fund to the Transporta- tion Fund. This was neces- sary to make payment for he recently purchased r, ew school bus, total cost of the bus being $7,507.00, the bus bid being awarded to Baum- Chevrolet- Buick Company of Clin- ton, Illinois for a 1971 Chevrolet chassis for $4,022.00, and the bus body (Wayne - 54 pas- senger) to Kranz Automo- tive Body Company of St. Louis, Missouri for their low bid of $3,485. The new bus has arrived and is being used on the North bus route. The Board, in other business, discussed tile purchasig of a new piano, the condition of the gym floor, the President's salary freeze as it relates to teacher salary increases, etc. MOUNT PULASKI COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT 34 Sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the School Superintendent at Mount Pulaski, Illinois, until 2:00 p.m. CDT, Thursday, 7 October 1971, for the pur- pose of furnishing all labor and materials necessary to re- model and modernize the ex- isting boilers for the Junior High School, Mount Pulaski, Illinois. Also, sealed proposals will be received at the same time for the repair and tuck- pointing of the existing brick stack for the boilers of the Junior High School at Mount Pulaski. Proposals will not be con- sidered unless they are ac- companied by a Certified Check or a Cashier's Check or in lied thereof, by a Bid- der's Bond in the sum of five per cent (5%) of the amount Bid, made payable to: Mount Pulaski Community School District 34, and guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract with the School Dis- trict if tht: proposal is ac- cepted.
