Pulaski, died in an off-road vehicle accident September 6, 2017. Caleb is survived by his par- ents, JC and Joyce Coogan and sister, Claire and his grandpar- ents, Jim-Boy and Judy Coogan - all of Mt. Pulaski. Caleb was a well-rounded young man, an inveterate tin- kerer specializing in farm trac- tors big and small. He treated animals as equals, his dog Odie enjoying parts of the same meal Caleb would be having. He possessed the work ethic and most of the skills of an adult, having mastered operation of construction equipment by the time he could reach the pedals, and was not afraid of manual labor either, often for no more payment than lunch. He could count as his friends some of the top "old-school" thinkers of the area and always ready to help out, used their mentoring to great advantage. He was blind to age in his choice of friends, to the point of commenting once how he might like to have a slumber party, but feared some of his guests would not be able to get back up off the floor. Caleb led with kindness and equality in all his interactions and in this displayed maturity far beyond his years. He leaves behind an unfillable void in his passing. Services for Caleb were Tuesday September 12 at Zion Lutheran Church in bit. Pulaski. Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiated. Burial was in Steenbergen Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Caleb Coogan's name for a headstone. In Memory L.
