Remembrance Gathering Mt. Pulaski Ministerial Alliance will host the Remembrance Gathering on the 10 th anniversary of the September 11 Attack The remembrance gathering is 2Pro Sunday, September 1 ! on the Mt. Pulaski Courthouse in the Fall Festival food tent. We will honor EMTs, police, fire, and all active military person- nel of the past 10 years from the Mt. Pulaski and neigh- boring towns. There will be music from the community choir, conducted by Claus Tanner; posting of the colors by the American Legion; and recognition of those who serve our community and country as lst-responders. Remember the fallen. Remember-- the sacrifice. The Ministerial Association of Mt. Pulaski would like to invite the community to participate in a "Time of Remembrance." To think 10 years ago our nation was assaulted by such acts of ter- rorism gives us pause. Has it really been that long? There are 3rd graders that have lived their whole fives after that event took place. It is our job as fellow Christians to never let the memories of sacrifice and heroism fall from our consciences. During the address to the nation on September 11, 2001 then President George Bush said this, "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve." Nearing the 10th anniver- sary of that horrible day we realize the same is true for our faith. The effects of sin can shake the foundations of our earthly lives, but they cannot touch the foundation of our faith and our blood-bought salvation. God's power and provision; his omnipotence and omniscience stand above the destruction and demoral- ization of our nation. On September 11, 2011 meet together as a commu- nity on the south side of the square at 2Pm to shed a few tears, share a few laughs, and shift our focus back to the God of gods!-The churches and pastors of Mt. Pulaski will participate in this impor- tant event. The Community Choir will be presenting three songs. The remembrance should last about V2 hour with des- sert and drinks to follow. Anyone interested in Singing in the community choir is invited to practice at the United Methodist Church Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 and Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7:30. Everyone in the community is invited to participate in this special gathering. P"llep.MbthP'Jt.Ic+aA MkJ+ ,h.
