While she won in two 4-H categories, Claire had to decide, enter the Nature Piece - which she did - or enter her Theater Arts II piece a puppet of a well- known A&E TV personality. Si from "'Duck Dynasty" can easily recognize his persona in the hand puppet created by Claire. She won a Logan County Fair Blue Ribbon for her accomplishment, but had to make a choice of which creation would be taken to the Illinois State Fair. Si stayed home. One Toke Over the Line By Mike Lakin A folk song by Brewer and Shipley from the 70s seems appropriate. One Toke Over the Line is a song about marijuana. The words 'one toke' mean a puff of marijuana and the phrase 'over the line' means too much. Officer Will Gilmer received a call from Logan Dispatch to watch for a pickup truck heading to Mt. Pulaski. Making the turn from 121 to V'me, the driver failed to use his turn signal. Officer Gilmer pulled in behind as the truck passed. When the truck crossed over the line on Vine the traffic stop was made. When Officer Gilmer talked with the driver, that distinctive odor of marijuana wafted from the truck. When the driver and his two passengers were asked about how recently they had, had a toke - they did not want to answer. When the driver got out of the truck he had notice- able trouble walking and admitted using marijuana "about an hour ago". While he had forgotten to take his driver's license when he got in the truck, he did Thank You From Fred & Eleanor Stahl Car Detaili We wish to thank everyone for the greeting cards, gifts, and telephone calls on our 65 Wed- ding Anniversary. Contemptible By Mike Lakin Officer Todd Bauer arrested a Mt. Pulaski resident in the 400-block of S. LaFayette on a Logan County attachment for a Contempt Warrant. Bond was set at $250. Turkish scientists created glow in the dark bunnies. remember his bong. When the driver handed it to Officer Gilmer he said, "This bong is all I have, and we smoked marijuana out of it before you pulled us over". Just surmising, but that may have been why Logan Dispatch knew something was up before they had reached Mt. Pulaski. The driver also said he had taken a hydroco- done two hours earlier. With all that, the driver was arrested. On to the passengers. Because no one owned up to the additional marijuana produced from the truck and a metal pipe, the passengers were both charged for possession. One passenger was transported along with the driver to the county jail. The other passenger was a minor and turned over to his grandmother. At the jail the driver was asked if he'd take a blood- urine test. When told he could loose his license for a year if he refused and he could loose his license for six-month if he "took and failed the test". He took the test saying he didn't want to loose his license for a year. CONAWAY [ HANDYMAN SERVICE LLC Fully Insured >- Painting $85 Small Repairs . .
