Local Post Offices Under Closure Review The U.S. Postal Service is studying the closure of 3,653 offices " across the country. Locally - the Chestnut, Corn- land, and Lake Fork Post Offices are under closure review. Coming under review doesn't necessarily mean an office will close. Once an office is selected for review and notice posted, cus- tomers have 60 days to file com- ments. If an office is to be closed, any customer can appeal to the independent Postal Regulatory Commission. The review study looks at retail traffic, revenue, and the number of customers served and what alternative postal access is avail- able to them. If there is no home delivery in a communitythe Postal Service will either begin deliv services or establish a central collection point for people to pick up mail.
