TOM TIBBS OF TOM'S FLOWER and Gift Shop of Mount Pulaski and Lincoln, in co- operation with the Logan County Abraham Lincoln Heritage Foundation, are the sponsors of a historic picture created by internationally famous Abraham Lincoln artist, Lloyd Ostendorf. The picture depicts Abraham Lincoln and Jabez Capps, the founder of the city of Mount Pulaski, discussing some legal matters in front of the Mount Pulaski House, a famous stopping place on the square in Mount Pulaski where David Davis, Stephen A. Douglas, Judge Logan, William Herndon and Abraham Lin- coln often spent the night during court week in Mount Pulaski. Jabez Capps was the first school teacher in Sangamon County, owned the first store in Mount Pulaski and was the first postmaster, as well as it's rtrst settler and founder. Very interestingly, Tom's Flower and Gift Shop in Mount Pulaski is located on the site of the Old Mount Pulaski House. 0 0 The failure is the one l 1 who is constantly grumb- 0 0 ling no matter what his 0 0 job may be. 0 0 There are two different 10 12 ways to go about your & work. One is to hunt up some- thing which no one else has done before; The other, and perhaps the more important, is to do what needs to be done and do it better than it is being done by the other fellow. That truism applies equally to any business or profession. o: cLECTIO-v.L Chi00a00 Mo00= C,ub AAA .o.,.G ,Tb bg the late ''r \\; / / c, UG6ESTG A VISIT TO .. j. ,IBtE "( MIDWEST STATE FAIRS (Continued from page 1) / '_ m,t-w,o,Ee cmreor x 3 . :_,,, ^"" ,o,,.[o.,,, k; #/ But the fine thing about ! all three of these insects is __ // i;i;,o / dia,,. .... ! . __' the fact that they are all s In o, A ...--... busy, somethingOr aretotryingdo, to find i/il / / 7 ," .a hear folks pitying them- selves because they have to work.
