NEWS & NOTES 2 MT PULASKI COMMUNITY BAND concert is Wednesday July 25 at the Mt. Pulaski Bandstand on the Courthouse lawn at 7 pro. Bring your. lawn chair or blanket and c(mae and enjoy the music. LINCOLN LAND COMMU- NITY COLLEGE announced its part-time President and Vice Presi- dent's lists for the spring 2012 semes- ter. To be eligible for the part-time Vice President and President's lists, students must be enrolled in six to 11 credit hours. Students named to the President's List (noted with an asterisk) earned a GPA of 4.0. Those on the Vice President's List earned a GPA of 3.50-3.99. The students so honored are: Chestnut - Vincent C. Boyd* and Shelly M. Voelker. Elkhart - Angela R. Cunningham* and Brian C. Sutherland* Mt. Pulaski - Lisa K. Shehorn* TWO LOGAN COUNTY DEMOCRATS are packing their bags and getting their plane tickets for Charlotte, North Carolina to attend the Democratic National Convention. The national convention will officially nominate President Barack Obama for President for his second term. The DNC quadrennial event will run from September 2-6 in Charlotte. Rebecca Drake, Chair of the Logan County Democrats, and Nancy Ashley of Lincoln will both be volunteers at the convention, doing appointed tasks that help the convention run smoothly. Drake will be a "Transportation Monitor", making sure the right people are on the fight shuttle buses to and from their hotels to the convention center in Charlotte. "This has been a lifelong dream of mine to be able to attend a Democratic National Convention and witness first- hand the nomination of our candidate for President", Drake wrote.
