The "Illinois Family, Career One of Cady's first responsi- and Community Leaders of bilities will be to serve as one of the Illinois FCCLA Voting Del- egates for the FCCLA National Leadership Conference that will be held in Nashville, TN on July 6 - 12, 2013. While at the National Conference, Cady will also preside over the Illinois FCCLA State Delegation Meet- AN INJURED "BABY" OWL was spotted and rescued in town. After surgery on the injured wing there will be a period of recuperation and- when ready - the owl will be released. America (FCCLA) newly elected state officer team recently chose their president for the 2013-2014 year. Cady Lowery, senior at Mt. Pulaski High School will lead the orga- nization along with six other officers from across the state. ings. The remainder of Cady's year will be packed with attend- ing conferences, presiding over. meetings and preparing for the 2014 State Leadership Confer- ence. The seveh member State Executive Council is-the back- bone of the student led organi- zation. Under Cady's leadership over the upcoming .year, they will be planning a variety of meetings and leadership activi- ties to serve the nearly 4,000 members in the state of Illinois. Being selected as State Presi- dent is an amazing opportu- nity that only one other Mount Pulaski FCCLA member has ever experienced in the chap- ter's 61 year history. "Cady Lowery is one of the most impressiw young leaders that I have had the privilege of working with/ She is self- motivated, sincere and a great inclusive leader.'I look forward to working with her and the rest of the state officer team for the next school year." - Marta Lockwood, Executive Director for Illinois Family, Career and Community Leaders of Amer- ica (FCCLA) In addition to her responsi- bilities as State President at the upcoming National Conference, Cady will also be competing with her partner, Jordan Luczaj, in their ChaPter Showcase Proj- ect Manual event. Accompany- ing them will be Chelsea Siem- bida, who will be competing in her Nutrition and Wellness event, and Mr. Waterkotte.
