WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT THIS SPECIAL EDITION This 160-page Souvenir Edition of 125 Years of Mount Pulaski is the largest single publicaton ever undertaken by a newspaper published in Mount Pulaski. The Times-News staff takes special pride in this edition for two reasons: 1. It is a fairly complete picture of Mount Pulaski since it was founded 125 years ago, complete with stories and pictures. 2. The edition was compiled and produced by the regular Times-News staff, without the need of additional personnel. We take particular pride in the color covers that grace the bound copies of this Souvenir Edition, printed right here in our own shop. A total of over 300,000 impressions were made on our offset press to complete this issue. The many thousands of words were set on our Intertype machine. We hope you will find as much pleasure in reading this special edition as we have in producing it! H. J. WIBLE, Times-News publisher, talons time out to inspect one of the 10 of this Sil.Tennial Edition. FRANK PASSMORE, offset pressman, looks over the color covers, which were the highlight of the presswork he completed for this edition. C. H. "JINKS" LECKBEE, veteran Times.News employee years of service, did all the machine composition for setting the thousands of inches of type on the Intertype. L , BILL SMITH, newest member of the Times-News staff, completed almost all of the ad layouts for this issue. OUR APPRECIATION --OUR APOLOGY FIRST. we want to express our Appreciation to all those who helped compile this edition, eith- er by writing or furnishing pic- tures. Special Thanks go to Paul E. Beidler for his unabounded fund of information about Mount Pulaski contained in the many articles he has written for this edition. SECOND, we wish to apologize for each and every omission or error we have unintentionally made. There is such a wealth of information available about our city through the years that it has been impossible, due to time and space limitations, to include everything. In particular there were many pictures we fully in- tended to run when we first start- ed to compile this edition a year and a half ago, but somewhere along the way, we lost contact with them. We hope that regardless of these omissions, you have a Souvenir Booklet of Mount Pul- aski you can treasure for many years.
