SHOW1( AT )P was printed in 1853 by the L H. Colton Publishing Co. of New York. The map of Logan r shows "Pulaski" not Mount Pulaski. Postville is also shown but Lincoln is not listed. The map was sent to us by Walter Vonderlieth of Darien, Conn. ldlE PLAT OF MOPr PHLAS was taken from an Atlas of Logan county, a copy of which was entered according to an Act f Congress in 1890 by George A. Cole &amp; Co., in the office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington, D. C. This map shows the following business houses on the square. Northwest comer on west side of square -- grocery, bakery, butch- er shop, restaurant, barbershop, saloon, grocery, printing office, drug store, butchershop, shoe store and clothing, Farmers Bank, opera house on second floor, hotel, millinery and barber shop in basement. South side - southwest comer and east -- saloon, saloon, cigar factory, saloon, drug store, hardware, grocery, harness shop, news, millinery, general store. East side square--hardware, grocery, 1st National Bank, harness shop, furniture, carpenter shop, Wind Mill factory. Northside - on northeast corner and on west --livery, millinery and shoe In the center of the square besides the old courthouse, were the water works and fire department, on the northeast corner of Court Yard. Shown, also, are--electrlc light plant on South Washington; roller mills on Monroe and Vine; saw and planing mill on Green and Vine; creamery, comer of Green and Marion; cider mill in same block; coal shaft is shown at Garden and Green. On south Washington was a hardware, saloon, furniture, clothing, shop, res- taurant On east side of South Washington was a store, saloon, lenner Hotel, saloon and bakery.
