By Kathy_ available at Salt Creek Attic. Christy and I Christy and I left for Reno. Made it to Chicago only to find out that once again our plane would be delayed taking off. Our origi- nal flight was coming in from Tampa and they were having bad storms there and the plane couldn't take off, sothey had to find another plane for us to continue on to Reno. We were about two hours late leaving Chi- cago; so arrived in Reno about dark. Got our luggage and found the shuttle to the hotel, got there and checked in. We are looking forward to a more relaxing trip than is usual for us. We decided not to rent a car this year, as we didn't think that we wanted to go any place else. Thursday morn we slept in for us, ate breakfast and then took the shuttle downtown to the Bowling Sta- dium to look around and see what they had that was of interest. Walked over to the Eldorado and gambled there for a little while and walked to several other casinos and then took a cab back to the I received my plaque for having bowled 25 consecutive years at Nationals. There were several other ladies that also received plaques; one of them received a plaque for having bowled for 50 years at Nationals. Neither Christy nor I are planning on receiving one of those. Then we "walked the walk" out to the lanes and bowled three games. Neither Christy nor I bowled very well in team. We can just say that we were there keeping the sides even. After bowling we joined the rest of our roup for supper at a Mexican Restaurant at Circus-Circus. Wandered through the other casinos and then took a cab back to the Atlan- tis. Up on Saturday morn and got ready to bowl singles and doubles today. This consists of six games, three for doubles, and three for sin- gles. I bowled my average for doubles and did better for singles. Christy was struggling thru doubles and chose not to bowl singles as her knees were hurting her quite a bit. After bowling we walked over to the down- town casinos and ate lunch/supper, stayed around there for awhile then called the Atlan- tis and had them come and pick us up at the Bowling Stadium and take us back to the hotel. We spent the rest of the night at our hotel. Atlantis. We went to the pool for a while; ate This year was a more relaxing trip than we supper and then gambled the night away. usually have. Friday morn up, ate breakfast and then went We are usually are on the move and this out by the pool for the rest of the morning, year we just decided to relax, I guess we are We bowl teams this afternoon, so got ready getting a little bit older. Christy also made to go and once again took the shuttle down the decision that she was not going to bowl in to the Bowling Stadium and met up with the Nationals any more. Her knees just hurt her Ladies from Clinton that we bowl with. We got checked in and then went back to the squad room to walt until it was time to march out to bowl. We had our picture taken. The USBC officials then presented awards to some of the many women that were attend- hag for the numerous years that they have bowled in the National Tournament. too much to continue bowling. I am going to continue to bowl for as long as I am able or want to and as long as Christy will continue to travel to Nationals with me. Next year we will be going to Las Vegas to a new Hotel/Casino/Bowling Center called South Point. These people are spending 35 Million dollars on a new bowling center there for us and as well as other tournaments. And by the way, we received enough money from last year's tournament to pay for our entry fee for this year. What a surprise. That's all for this year. Don't know ifI will continue to write about our future trips or not. Thank you everyone for all the nice comments about my artides, I really have appreciated them. Lorene Stoll 8
