Several of our group met on Tuesday, June 21st, at Elkhart's W'fld Hare Restaurant for lun- cheon and a brief meet- ing at 12:302. Shirley Haley from Chesmut, a guest of Pat Straumann's, joined our group for lunch and then decided to place her membership with us too. We all welcomed Shirley and know that she will enjoy being with us for future gatherings. If you or a friend is interested in joining, please ask any Red Hat member. Guests are always warmly greeted. Lunch was good with a nice variety of light meals available. I overheard their quiche was delicious and their side salads were [ also delightful. The light I repasts are in the medium price range, and they also feature a nice selection of desserts. Pie seemed to be among those chosen to take home for later that day. Co-hostesses were Patsy Gaxlits and Sandra Ohler. Sandy also brought her grand- daughter, Payton, and she : brought a lot of smiles to the group. She wore a royal sequined crown in bright purple. T'was very becoming to her. She helped her grandmother and Patsy set up the tables. Patsy and Sandra pro- tided red, white and blue New Daily Specials Sandwiches Ribeye and Porkchop New Ice Cream Items Strawberry Shortcakes, Brownie Sundae & Snow Cones Topper Red Hatters: On The Go,.. M&M's and miniature tootsie roils in nut cups for us. In addition, each member received a fold- up fan (great for the hot weather we all know lies just ahead of us) and a star-studded hand held whirligig to show our patriotism for the upcom- ing 4th of July. (I might add that only one of our group had to be shown how to operate it... guess whom?) There will be no July luncheon-meeting due to the activities involved with the celebration of Mt. Pulaski's 175th anni- versary. Plans for the August get together will appear in a July issue of the Times, thanks to Mike Lakin. He always comes through for us. Happy 4th of July to all and God bless you. Submitted by Pat Straumann Addition To...
