Duo led Toppers to 3 victories the week of April 27 thru May 2. Collier batted 5 for 11 with.7 RBIs and Huffwas 4 for 12 with 4 RBIs and picked up two of the wins during that week. Congratula- tions, guys! Topper Baseball Stats - 2015 Season Mt. Pulaski Toppers baseball team finished the 2015 season with 13 wins and 12 losses. Brett Huff led the team with 4 wins followed by Blake Collier and Michael Lowery with 3 wins apiece. Huffwas also named the Most Improved Player at the banquet as he improved not only on the mound this season, but also atthe plate. Brayden Curry had 2 wins on the season. Blake Collier led the pitching staffwith a 1.95 ERA. Michael Lowery had a team-leading 53 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. Lowery was named the MVP at the Spring Athletic Ban- quet. He batted .478 with 3 home runs, 12 doubles, 4 triples and 31 RBIs. Beau Collier, who won the Defensive Award and Spirit Award at the banquet, batted .382 with 2 doubles and 2 triples and 27 RBIs. Matt Amidon batted .344 with 1 home run, 2 doubles and a triple. Amidon led the team in stolen bases with 26. Lowery, Beau Collier and Blake Collier were named First Team All-Conference and Amidon and Huff were named Second Team All-Conference. In addition to these awards, Beau Collier and Brett Huff won the Prime Time Performers of the Week during th baseball season. This honor is sponsored by Sports 1450 in Springfield and area players compete from all around Springfield- and the surrounding schools. Mt. Pulaski had several nominees this season in both basketball and baseball, but Beau and Brett have the honor of being the only winners from MPHS. Congratu- lations to all the Toppers on a fine season.
