Myparents told me to always teN die truth. I did:: Fried Chicken ismy favorite animal. Itold my dad what happened; he said my teaCher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. p I do, too, Especially chicken, pork, and beef. to Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's Q - office. o I told him what happened, he laughed, and he told me not to do it again. Next day my teacher asked me what my favor- ite live animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me to the principal's office. He laughed, and told me not to do it again. I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked me to tell her what famous person I admired most. I told her, "Colo- nel Sanders." Guess where I am now... Phil Bertoni dropped a note... "Many (thanks) for publishing my story on the impor- tance of math for the development of our left- brain; I've already heard from a local MPGS math teacher about her excitement in reading this." Latham's Fire District is the oldest in the county, ALHF Names Scholarship Recipient Alexa Meister Abraham Lincoln Healthcare Foundation (ALHF) has named three 2015 Healthcare Career Scholarship recipients. Lauren Lynn .of Mason City, Alexa Meister of Mr. Pulaski and. Brian Bishop of Lincoln will receive a total of $50,000 to help pursue their healthcare education. Each scholarship includes an agreement to worktheir first job out of college at Abraham Lincoln Memo- rial Hospital (ALMI-I) in Lincoln. ALHFhas made a commitment to invest in the future workforce of ALMH through its Healthcare Career Scholar- ship Program. Lynn, Meister, and Bishop were selected for the scholarship after a rigorous application process that included three rounds of interviews, refer- ence checks, and job shadowing at ALMH. Alexa Meister is pursuing a bachelors of sci- ence in nursing and will join the ALMH team in May 2017. Ethan Michael Hahn graduated Eastern Illi- nois University May 9 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He graduated Summa Cuin Laude - Gold with highest honors with a GPA 3,90-4.00. Ethan is the son of Steven Michael Hahn of Mt Pulaski and Dawn Hahn of Lindenhurst. He is the grandson of Donna Hahn and the late Harry Hahn and Dorenne Smith and the late Jesse Smith.
