"Katie" Dobey, went to be with her Lord and loved ones May 22, 2013 at 10:15 pro. She lived her life to be a blessing to others and her passion, for her faith inspired everyone she knew and met. She lived a great life to the age of 104. Katie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed making baskets, writing poems, cooking and reading the Bible and listening to hymns. She had worked as an activity director at Abraham Lin- coil Memorial Hospital and St. Clara's Manor. She was a member of the Red Hats, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Elkhart Christian Church. Katie was born on December 27, 1908 in Lincoln the daughter of Marcella (French) Eider, 92, of Mt Auburn, passed away at 8:35 A.M. Stmday (05-26-2013) at her home. Funeral services, were Wednes- day (05-29-2013) at Berea Christian Church, Mt. Auburn. Burial was :in Berea Cemetery, Mt. Auburn. . Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements. Memorials: Camp One Way, Nit. Auburn, Mt. Auburn Food Bank, Carroll School, Lincoln, or Donor's Choice. Marcella was born on January 1, 1921, in Latham the daughter of David Wilson and Bertha (Martin) Wilson. She married Milton French on March 17, 1940. He preceded her in death December 1966. She then married Cecil Elder on February 28, 1973. He preceded her in death February 1999. Peter and Anna Jelkin Stumpf. She married John Clark Dobey on March 31, 1929 in Elkhart. He preceded her in death in November 1986. Katie is survived by four chil- dren: Gary "Skip" (Joyce) Dobey of Elkhart; John "Jack" Dobey i iii  She was a long time 4-H leader and Sunday Ble School Teacher. Marcella was a member of Berea Christian Church, the Ladies Aux- iliary of A.T.A. and Christian Women's Fellowship. She retired from J.C. Penney and Co. and was also an employee for the State of Illinois. She loved God, her family and friends. Marcella had many hobbies that included read- hag, music, sewing, decorating, oil painting, baking, and working in her yard. of Peoria; Susan Dobey Johnson (Dean Fulkerson)of Elkhart; Mari- lyn Theobald of Lincoln; two sis- ters: Emanita "Nita" Hargrave of Maldin, MO and Tony Cavallin of California; eight grandchildren and eight great grand children. She was preceded in death by one son: Wayne Dobey; two sisters and four brothers. Services for Kathryn were Sat- urday, May 25 at Fricke-Calvert- Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with Robert Twist officiating. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cem- etery, WilliamsviUe. Memorials: WLLM Radio Sta- tion, St. Clara's Manor, or Elkhart Christian Church. She is survived by daughter Chartha Swingle of Mt. Auburn, son Steven (Pat) French of Lin- coln, grandchildren Stacy Gal- lick of Kansas City, KS., Lori Swingle of Bethlehem, PA., Gerald Swingle of Kansas City, KS., Aaron (Carrie) French of St. Louis, MO., and Amanda (Nick) Vaini of Lincoln; great-grand- children Adam GaUick, Sullivan French, Vivian French, Gavin Vaini; and goddaughters Lynnea Armstrong, Connie Burgett, and Barbara French Dodge, and several nieces and nephews.
