Pulaski, formerly of Lincoln, died at 11:10 PM May 14, died at 2:45 PM, May 18, 2014 at Heritage 2014 at Vonderlieth Living Center. Manor in C arlinviile. Tbehna was born Melva was born July 24, 1930 in on November 30, " Springfield, a daugh- 1932 in Waynesville, " ter of Lloyd C and the daughter of Carl Margaret Bryson Day. She married Melvin R. McKnight on June 14, 1953 in Springfield He pre- "ceded her in death on September 25, 1996. Thelma is sur- vived by brothers - Edward Day of Denver, CO and Keith Day of Dallas, NC; niece - Jean (Jeff) Martin of Mt. Pulaski; nephew - Lloyd Day of Lincoln; as well as several other nieces and nephews; great nephews - Doug (Erin) Martin and Derek (Re- nee) Martin both of Mt Pulaski; special friends - Mark, Diane, Bryce, Brent, and Katie Huns- ley of Lincoln. Her parents, one sister Mildred Wiebking, and one brother Robert Day preceded her in death. Thelma loved to go camping, boating, and traveling. She also volunteered at the_Logan County Genealogical Society. Services were Monday May 19 at Fricke- Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Mark Weber officiated. Burial was in New Union Cemetery. Memorials: Logan County Genealogical So- ciety or Vonderlieth Living Center Foundation. In Memory Betty Jane Johnson, 83, of Illiopolis, died 4:50 a.m., Tuesday, May 20.2014, at Vonder- lieth Living Center Betty was born March 2, 1931 in Lake Fork, the daughter of William and Bessie (Sherwood) Koehler. She married C. Clifford "Tobe" John- son on December 14, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2004. Her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death She is survived by sons - Charles E. (Marty) Johnson. Illiopolis and Philip (Nancy) John- son, Niantic; grandchildren - Amy (Joe) John- son, Dayton, IN: Scott Johnson. Illiopolis: Caitlin (Cody) Wickline, Assumption: and Rob Johnson. Niantic; great grandchildren - Miles Johnson, Mazy Johnson, and Tenley Wickiine; brothers - Darrel (Blanche) Koehler. Morton and Wil- liam "Pudge" Koehler, Lincoln. Betty was a member of Niantic Christian Church and Women's Group. Funeral services were May 23 at Niantic Christian Church. Burial was in Long Point Cemetery, Niantic. Memorials: Niantic Christian Church. and Anna (Ruble) Halsey. She mar- tied Donald Dale Neaville on March 6, 1954 in Lincoln. He died October l 1, 2002. Her Parents, four Brothers and two Sisters also preceded her in death. She is survived by Sons - Chris (Deb- bie) Neaville and Brian Neaville both of Mt. Pulaski; Grandchildren - Dustin (Kari) Cum- mlng, Smart, FL; Ben Neaville, Mt. Pulaski; Andrew (Megan) Neaville, Mt. Pulaski; Great- grandchildren - Kaylee C umming, Summer Neaville, and Oliver Neaville; and Brother - Tom (Virginia) Halsey, Normal. Melva was a member of the Wapella Chris- tian Church. She was a cook at Mt. Pulaski Grade School for 40 years. Melva was a vol- unteer EMT on the Mt. Pulaski Ambulance and worked at the Mt. Pulaski Library. Graveside Services were Thursday, May 22 at Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville. James Morrill officiated. Memorials: Mt. Pulaski Ambulance. ., I:1 o to to O I.t 4 In Memory Charley Beck died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at his residence. He was born July 29, 1940 at Alhambra. IL, the son of Harley and Louise (Chase) Beck. Charley was a Veteran of the United States Army. He married Carol Hurley on Feb. 29, 1964 at Lincoln. He moved to Taney County in 1983, he was a member of the American Legion, and a Building Inspector for Taney County. Charley was a member of the Central Taney County Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for two years. Survivors include his wife, Carol Beck of Kissee Mills, MO.; daughters. Teresa Milner of Kirbyville, MO., Tamara Cox of Forsyth, MO., and Christina Beck of Lincoln: seven grand- children, and 9 great-grandchildren; and sister. Jane Doolin of Atlanta. Charley was preceded in death by his par- ents; and siblings, Art Beck, Jack Beck. Doris Gresham. Alberta Beck. James Beck. Madonna York. Clara Mae Hayter. and Harley Beck. Funeral Services were at the Forsyth Whelchel Funeral Chapel May 21. Burial was in Snapp Cemetery in Forsyth. MO. Memorials: Central Taney County Fire Fighters Assoc.. 8118 E. Hwy 76, Kirbyville, MO 65679. Years ago, Charley had a plumbing business in Mt. Pulaski located on the west side of the square.
