The worship service will start at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck dinner at noon. At 2 p.m. there will be another informal serv- ice. The Centennial will mark the final service in the church as it will close at the end of the con- ference year. Started in 1861 In 1861 a small group of peo- ple met in the Duff school (later called Harmony school) for the first services in the community. This was an organized society which joined with others in mak- ing up the Lincoln circuit. In 1869 the first building known as the Harmony Methodist Episco- pal Church was built where the present building stands. The church was remodeled in 1900 and at that time was described as befng "one of the very nicest houses of worship in the area." This building was used as a worship center for nearly 50 years. New Church Built in 1917 The present building was dedi- cated in 1917. In 1927 the church became an entity and known as the Harmony Methodist Church. In 1946 Harmony joined with Beason and had the services of the same minister. The Harmony Sunday School discontinued in 1958. The church has served the community for worship services, community club meetings, social affairs, and a variety of socials md dinners. Harmony Cemetery is located near the church and is a prominent landmark of the community. AmbltRm: A poor excuse for not having sense enough to be lazy. REAL ESTATE INSURANCE Farm Management A. W.
