Great Grandparents are Buss & Leota Lamar of Mt. Pulaski. Drilling for "Almost Free" A/C The Neals - at 305 E Cooke, Mt. Pulaski - have earned their place in Mt. Pulaski trivia. They installed the first geothermal unit in town. When asked, Donnie Neal said he plans - right now - to use the system for air-conditioning. With geother- mal cooling, Donnie says his air-conditioning will be "almost free". " A site that touts geothermal states you can cool homes with 40% to 70% less energy than conventional systems. Geothermal units result in a practical equiva- lence of over 400% efficiency. Letter Carriers' National Food Drive Saturday May 14 marks the 19~ Letter Carriers' food drive. Letter Carriers will col- lect non-perishable food items you leave at your mailbox. The number of people living in homes lacking sufficient food has gone up 30% in just one year. To help out a neighbor, leave your donation - whether a can, or a box, or a sack - near your mailbox for pick up. The donated food will be delivered to a local food bank. Mt.
