Retiring School Board Meinbers Thanked for Service At the April School Board meet- to the district as board members. Jeff ing, Superintendent Shelton presented Haley served for 8 years and David David Meister and Jeff Haley with Meister served for 16 years and has been plaques honoring them for their service the School Board President since 2005. High School Play was well attended Over 400 tickets were sold for the 3 different shows. 6 Mt. Pulaski Times Student and athletic fees were discussed for the 2011-2012 school year. The recommendation by Superintendent Shelton is to keep the lunch, Student - Athletic Fees textbook, and registration fees the same. The board also discussed fees for the Vocational school, Salt Creek Alternative School, Drivers Ed and Athletic Fees, and student admis- sion to events. No action was taken and will be dis- cussed again at the May School Board meeting. Calendar Set The 2011-2012-school calendar was approved at the April School Board meeting. The first day of student attendance tbr the 2011-2012-school term will be August 23. If no snow days are used, the last day of student attendance will be May 22, 2012. On Passage of Sales Tax Superintendent Shel- ton gave a report at the April School Board meeting on the recently passed 1% sales tax for Logan County. Now that the election is over, the county board will vote to implement the tax. On the county board's approval, the level of tax will be set -. up to the full 1%. The tax will not take effect until January 1, 2012. A new fund will have to be established for revenue received from the sales tax. Superintendent Shelton thanked the com- munity for their support on the sales tax. Meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are every Thursday evening, 6to 7:30Pm in the Mt. Pulaski Christian Church, Family Life Center, on Lafayette. Mt. Pulaski 175th Celebration meetings are at 9 a.m., first and third Saturdays of each month at the Mt.
