Ms. Becker has been involved with the United Way for many years, most recently serving on the Board of Directors, and has also worked with local campaigns. Recently retired from Eaton Corporation, Ms. Becker has also served in the past as a director on the Boards of The Chamber of Commerce, ALMH and currently serves on The Heartland Community College Founda- tion Board. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University and earned an MBA from Illinois State University. On October 16, 2016, Dr. Tim Shaver received a silver medal commemorating 25 years as a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is a general surgeon specializing in pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery. CHARLESTON - The Library Advisory Board of Booth Library at Eastem Illinois University recently honored a Lake Fork student as a winner of the 2017 Award for Excellence in Student Research and Creativity. Kelsey Oglesby, a graduate student in clinical counseling, was honored as part of a group research project, "The Effect of School-Based Creative Expres- sion Group Therapy on the Self- Concept of Female Adolescents." Oglesby is a 2009 graduate of Mr. Pulaski High School and the daughter of Julie and Carl Oglesby of Lake Fork. She was honored at a reception on April 12. The Booth Library Awards for Excellence in Student Research and Creativity program promotes and recognizes excellence in student research. The program encourages students to enhance their studies by utilizing the wealth of information available at Booth Library and other research venues. All entries were original works completed by Eastern students within the last 12 months. The award recipients were selected on the basis of excellence, creativity and the use of research resources.
