7 PoliceReport By Mike Lakin Police Chief Lynn Freer clocked him at 63 in the 40 zone and pulled him over. Driving his mom's car, he was taking his buddy ta the county courthouse for a 3Pro hearing. The buddy's bearing was in 18-minutes - for a DUL The driver was suspended for a family responsibility judge- mont. The passenger was sus- q pended for DUI and driving uninsured. With a strong odor of alcohol pouring forth from the car. the driver said he'd not been indulging at all. The driver was arrested. The passenger, excited, was out of the car pacing, waving his , arms, and declaring his inno- cence. That's when the empty cup of beer was found. The passenger was cited for illegal ' transportation. Still declaring his truthfulness, he also admit- ted he had something in his pocket, a bit of weed and a brass pipe. At the county jail, the now late for court passenger, was found to be wearing three pairs of pants. Declaring his truthfulness still; two more smoking devices were discovered. At that point, the passenger said he'd forgotten he had those. After an eventful day, the two stopped in Mt. Pulaski on their way home court. To buy a couple beers and Dixie cups. Those two. Just a pair of life's mysteries. Officer Kyle Yeech arrested a Mt. Pulaski resident on a Logan County warrant. Residents of 103 N. Mason St. have received four City Ordi- nance violations for permitting their dogs to run loose. Setting a poor example to their dogs, the most recent citations have remained unpaid. The reports states. ".. the Mt. Pulaski Police Department consistently receives complaints regarding (the resi- dents') dogs running loose." The car attracted Officer Kyle Veech's interest when the driver found the turn signals on his car too complicated to operate. Stopped for a non-signaled turn, the driver had a license and insurance card. But the County K-9 said there was more. Found between the seats was a hitter pipe and that classic green leafy substance. It was a "book-em Dan," situation. YOU Wonder? Really? From Danny Matthews John Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock... (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his elec- tric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MAD E IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator IMADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today After setting his watch IMADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANYI filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Com- puter (made in MALAYSIA), John decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL), poured himself a gross of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA. Meanness don't happen overnight COWBOY WISDOM Courthouse to have historic atmosphere? The Mt. Pulaski Courthouse received a "red State of Illinois. If the bill is not paid, the historic notice" from AMEREN CILCO. courthouse will have a "real" 1840s atmosphere. Seems the utility bill has gone unpaid by the No electricity, but there are those candles. Out our way, it,s not the sound of mowers that says Spring. It's the sound of Joni's VW leaving the garage. And, it's not Spring yet: Joni's "good weatherride" has an accelerator problem.., and it's not even a Prius.
