In the 125-year history of this newspaper, the paper never hired someone to sell subscrip- tions. And, your editor despises telemarketers. If, by chance, you have any information on this - especially a telephone number- let the newspaper know. MPGS Technology Fundraiser Profits Allocated In the Fall of 2009, the Mt. Pulaski Grade School students participated in a fundraiser to raise funds for technology ini- tiatives. With that money, nine Smart Board interactive whiteboards will be purchased. These boards. in conjunction with a computer, take the place of a traditional chalkboard. This allows students and teachers to interact with content on presentations, docu- ments, and the Internet, while also giving the ability to work in a conventional fashion. The boards have been acquired at a discount through a special SEED program offered by Smart Technologies. This guarantees savings of approxi- mately $700 per board. The tech- nology fundraiser profits were adequate to purchase 7 of the boards. PASE, the Parent/Teacher Organization for MPGS, has gra- ciously offered to fund the pur- chase of the additional 2 boards. We would like to thank PASE for all of their hard work in rais- ing the money to purchase these boards. Additionally, we would like to thank all of the parents, students, and community mem- bers who helped with or pur- chased items during the tech- nology fundraiser this past fall. d) n .D --401"-: r" : ;"4 mr"O "o 0 Garage Sale The Mt. The pillowcases were sewn and donated by Family and Consumer Science/FCCLA students at MPHS and the Sew What? Ladies. The Mr. Pulaski Women in Business donated the pillows. Shown here are students who assembled the carload of pillows that were delivered to Dove Domestic Vio- lence Center in Decatur before Easter. Also donated to the shelter - Easter baskets of candy for the kids and toiletries for the moms. All the donations were extremely appreciated by Joyce Kirkland, director of the center.
