Additional Reminder for New Tree Planters Anyone planning to plant new trees on public property in the City Limits of Mt. Pulaski, the "Hilltop Tree Huggers" wish to remind you that new young trees should be staked, mulched, and kept watered during the hot summer months. Another reminder, mulch about 4-6" deep keeping it slightly away from the base of the trunk and shaping it like a donut. If for some un-for-seen reason, anyone is having difficulty with their plant- ing, you may contact the commit- tee for assistance. This only applies to trees on public property. Don't forget that the city will reimburse up to $50 for the purchase/plant- ing of an approved tree on that property. When you pick up your request form at City Hall for per- mission to plant, Laura will give you a DO NOT plant list for refer- ence.
