THURSDAY, APRIL 8,1971 Chestnut Chatter Rebecca Drake Hugh Buehler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Buehler, has ac- cepted employment at O'Bear- Nester Co., Lincoln beginning last week. Chestnut Home Extension Unit will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. James Leeck, Wednesday, April 21st. Guests are always welcome. Congratulations to the newly- weds, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Buehler. Bert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Buehler. He married the former Lynn Gelbach Saturday, April 3rd. Also, Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Don Smith, Jr. of New Berlin. The new bride is the former Allicent Huffacker, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schroth of rural Chestnut. Mrs. Dallas Knoy, 4-H Leader of the Chestnut Jr. Homemakers, announces that the club will be sponsoring a Bak Sale, Satur- day, April 10th 9:30 a.m. til Noon at Chapman's Restaurant in Chestnut. The money from this sale will help sponsor a girl from their club at State 4-H Week in June at the U. of I. and the 4-H Foundation, so your help will be greatly appreciated. I received a nice letter from Miss Nell Watson, Indianapolis, Ind., this past week. It's so nice to hear from you former "Chest- nut.ires" and I appreciate your kind comments on this column. Also received a note from Dorothy Opperman Hanslow, Fulton, Missouri and she said to say "Hi" to all of you. Little Daniel Dewitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin "Jr." Dewitt, will be 3 years old, April 12th. Happy Birthday, Daniel. Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Schafer, Springfield, observed .their 25th wedding anniversary April 5th. She is the daughtei of Mrs. Laura Kuntzi. Mr. Schafer is em- ployed as engineer on the Illinois Central Railroad. Mr. and Mrs. James Buehler entertained the parents of Miss Lynne Gelbach and members of the wedding party at Rehearsal Dinner at the Heritage Inn, Lin- coln, Friday, April 2nd at 6:00 p.m. Miss Gelbach married Bert Buehler April 3rd. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Balm celebrated their l Oth wedding anniversary April 2nd. Congratu- lations, Faye and PeeWee. Mrs. Byron Bahn and chil. dren, Mark and Natalie, spent four days visiting with her sister, Mrs. Don Erlenbush and family in Sullivan, Ind. They took the trip by bus, leaving Decatur Sat., April 3rd. The Chestnut Volunteer Fire- men are sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt April 10th at the Chestnut Grade School, starting at 9:30 a.m. for pre-school thru 6th graders. Prizes will be award- ed to ten winners.
