Chicago St. Lincoln (217) 732-3331 iFormer Mt Pulaski Resident's Shaun & Amber Meyers's Children End Excellent Wrestling Season 6 O ~0 g~ t-t t-t GO t~ O i.a Washington state is 1of 5 states to hold Girls High School State Championships, as of this year there are over 1600 girl wrestlers in the state of Washington. Harley Meyers wrestled her freshmanyeax. for the Yelm High School Girls Wrestling Team. This was Harley's 1st year competing on a Girls team. Until this year she had only competed against Males. Harley started her season wrestling Varsity ll21bs and then moved to Varsity 106 lbs. She took 2nd in Districts, 5th in Regionals and out of the top 16 girls at WIAA (Wash- ihgton Interscholastic Activities Associa- tion) Mat Classic she placed 9th. Her only losses this season were to senior girls. Her record for this season was 27 matches, of which she had 19 pins, and 4 tech falls. Holden Meyers wrestled his 7th grade year on the Yelm, Washington's Middle School Wrestling team at Varsity 90 pound class. He gave up 10 pounds, to prepare himself for High School in the future. Holden was undefeated during the season with a record of 20 and zero. + + +++ ........ o+ + ++?+++++!+ The phrases "I'm sorry" and "I love you" should never be followed by the word "but." He had 16 pins, 3 tech falls, and 1 deci- sion.-Holden took 1st at the Middle School Leagues, and was chosen the team captain and MVP for his team. Raegan Meyers wrestled Varsity, in the Yelm, Washington 9 to 12 year old class at 65 pounds. She had 15 pins for the season. She took 4th in Sub-DiviSional playoff. She was 1 of 4 girls to make it to Divisions this year. Since the regular season is over, aLl three are wrestling in USA Freestyle & Greco Roman out of Team Tech Fall held in Washington State. They have all placed second in their 1st Tourna- ment. So far the Meyers's girls have not competed against another Female. Shaun Meyers has been one of coaches for the Yeim Twisters for the last several years. He has helped take the youth team from 17th place three years ago, to 7th place last year and 5th place this year. There are over 100 kids in the Youth Pro- gram. Not only is he coaching the youth program, he has volunteered to assist with the High School Girls wrestling program. 38% of restaurants mistakenly label the type of fish they serve.
