Gracie Goose - Jamie Cummings of Decatur had a problem. Her husband, Mike Hallan, was allergic to pets, but they wanted a pet badly. Their solution is unique, but has been a joyous learning experi- ence. They obtained a goose egg and hatched it in an incubator. Gracie was hatched on July 11, 2009. When Jamie's grandfather entered Vonderlieth LivingCenter, Jamie requested permission to bring her pet to visit. Gracie made her debut in February with a pink necklace for Valen- tine's Day and a white diaper. Gentle and social, Gracie has become a welcome guest at the nursing home. Jamie says Gracie has been wonderful company at home and surprisingly entertaining. "She has a variety of vocalizations. Sometimes it seems like she is actually talking to yOU."
