John R.: "Jack" Pope, 89, of Mt. Pulaski died February 9, 201.0 at Votderlietll Living Center at llPm. Funeral Services we.re Saturday Feb- ruary 13 at Fricke-Calvert-Sehrader Funeral ttome, Mt. Pulaski, Rev. Kath- ryn Frus officiated. Burial was in Lake Bank Cemetery with Full Mili- tary Rights accorded. His Parents - Frank H. and Thear Maerae Pope Sr.; Sister-Jean Grathwohl; Twin Brother - Frank; and Son - Robert preceded him in death. Mr. Pope was a Retired Farmer. He was born June 21, 1920 in Latham the son of Frank H. and Thear Maerae Pope Sr. He married Bonnie McKin- ley in Chestnut on Sept 5, 1948. Survivors Include - Wife - Bonnie Pope of Mt. Pulaski; Son -John Pope of Mt. Pulaski; Daughter - Gay Conder of Decatur; Six Grandchildren and Three Great- grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews. Mr. Pope was a member of the Niantic Christian Church. Mr. Pope served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-1946. He received Four Bronze Battle Stars for his ser- vice in the Battle of the Bulge. Rev. Thomas Shaw officiated. Burial was in Elkhart Cem- etery in Elkhart, Full Military Rites were accorded by American Legion Post 263 of Lincoln. Mr. Buttell died Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 5:20Am at Vonderlieth Living Center. His Par- ents, of William John and Elizabeth Sherbondy Buttell and a Sister pre- ceded him in death. Mr. Buttell was born on August 4, 1931, in Lincoln, the son of William John and Elizabeth Sherbondy But- tell. He married Sandra J. Worth on May 4, 1957, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhart. She survives. Survivors Include - Daughters - Jacki (Greg) Menke of Paducah, Ken- tucky and Jane (Jack) Davis of Wil- liamsville; Grandson - Gage Loeffel- holz; Sister- Jeanette (Ben) Snyder of Bloomington; and Cousin - Joe (Bev) Buttell of Elkhart. Many Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mr. Buttell attended school at Elkhart and completed two years at Lincoln College. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1948, serving four years, and then served five years with the Air National Guard at Springfield. He was very proud of his service record. He was a member of the Peoria boat club and American Legion Post in Elkhart. Mr. Buttell enjoyed life and being with his family and friends. He farmed in the Elkhart area and owned a construction com- pany and S. W. Buttell Trucking, retiring in 2003. He loved to be on his houseboat on the Illinois River and had high hopes of flying his ultra light. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, but most of all loved his family. Memorials: St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Red Cross for the children of Haiti. Barbara "Joy" Inman, 81 of Decatur passed away at 6:32Am Monday, Feb- ruary 1, 2010 at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur. Funeral services were Friday, Feb- ruary 5 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Decatur. Pastor Dave Taylor officiated. Burial was in Neoga Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeff Castelli, Steve Coventry, Scott Inman, Tom Moore, Joshua Mower, Fred Sau- rmann, and Don VanLyssel. Song Titles: Amazing Grace, In the Garden, and The Lord's Prayer. Her Parents, Sister - Mildred "Joan" Thoman Cox, and Brother-in-Law - Melvin V Cox preceded her in death. Mrs. Inman was born September 23, 1928 in Mt. Zion the daughter of John "Elmer" Thoman and Mildred "Erma" Scott Thoman. She worked as an office manager and bookkeeper in multiple doctors' offices. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. She married Dean Maxwell Inman June 28, 1952 at West- minster Presbyterian Church in Decatur. He preceded her in death February 28, 2008. Survivors Include - Son - Ray Scott Inman and his wife Mar- jorie of Mt. Pulaski; Daughter - Marsha Joan Inman Mower and husband Thomas "Skip" of Decatur; Grandsons - Jarod Mower (Keri Meyer) of Makawao, Hawaii, Joshua Mower (Julie) of Deca- tur, and Scott Inman (Debby) of Mt. Pulaski; Granddaughters - Tracy Moore of Mt. Pulaski, Jennifer (Ray) Reynolds of Iowa, and Angela Castelli (Jeff) of Mt. Pulaski; Great-grandchildren -Joanie Castelli, Noah Reynolds, Victoria Castelli, Madison Inman, Andrew Mower, Reece Inman, and Emily Castelli; Sister- in-Law - Dorine Inman of Arkansas; Nieces - Karen Gray, Cyn- thia Van Lyssel (Don), Pam Saurmann (Fred), Julie Clark (Tom), and Jan Coventry (Steve); Nephews - Mike Cox (Sandy), Dean Inman (Missy), and David Inman (Priscilla); and Sixteen Great- Nieces and Nephews. In her younger days, Joy enjoyed travel by car with her family, reading, writing, knitting, crocheting, playing the piano and organ, and volunteering in the schools and church. In her latter year s she enjoyed spending time with her late husband and their extended family at Bob Evan's Restaurant. Throughout her life Joy was a kind and loving woman, who provided a solid founda- tion for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to express its heart- felt thanks to Dr. Gregory Totel and staff for their many years of care, Dr. Anthony McCormick and staff and the staff of Imboden Creek for their loving care and compassion during the past two years. Survivors Include - Son - James Ballew of Sims and Daughter - Jan Ballew. She was a graduate of Mt. Pulaski High School.
