Chelsey Se/tz (Senior) - College of Professional Study of Mt. Pulaski. Mcgan Voile (Junior) - Colege of Arts & Science of Mt. Pulaski. "Musical" The latter part of January, we attended the musical, "Church Base- ment Ladies 2, a second helping", at the Bloomington center of the Arts. The theatre was full of ladies and some men. There were also busloads of people. To say the least it was funny and parts reminded me when I helped serve dinners in our clurch basement years ago. On the Lighter Side - An elderly man, soliciting funds for a religious organization, asked Oliver Wen- dell Holmes, then in his 80s, for a F| contribution. As Holmes was about orenee's to make out a check, he suddenly stopped and inquired, "What are GF you going to do with the money?" ner "Give it to the Lord, of course" the other replied. "How old are you?" asked Holmes. "Seventy," the man replied. "Well, in that case," Holmes said, closing his checkbook, "I'd better give to Him myself. I'll probablybe seeing Him before you will." Food for Thought- Romans 1:16 For I'm not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God, for salvation to eery- one who believes. Only cows know why they stampede. COWBOY WISDOM rt.m vt'! By Mike Lakin With the Feb. Blizzard came icy walks and drive- ways. But, the city giving away free salt? While you may have heard this recently, it's not quite true. During the Feb. 8 City Council I asked Mayor Jim Fuhrer about this rumor - because rumors always are based on something. Jim said there had been an incident. A local business he did not name did twice go to the city salt storage building and take salt from the shed. The business did say, when contacted by the city, that it was an emergency and there was no salt available in town to purchase. Jim said that i business couldn't decide what an emergency is and then just take something from the city. The matter was settled by the business returning the salt taken on the second visit to the salt shed and paying for what was taken on the first visit. The matter did reach the point of the business owner being told that entering city property was trespass and an arrest for theft of city prop- erty was more than a possi- bility, it would be a reality. better water, pure and simple; Water Softeners..
