Wrong Way was Error of Commitment By Mike Lakin Chief Lynn Freer was exit- ing his squad car on Morgan Street at Garden Street tobe present for the dismissal of students at the grade school. He watched a vehicle travel south on Garden (wrong direction) and through two barricades that block off the entrance of Garden Street from Jefferson Street. After making a stop of the vehicle, Chief Freer asked the driver if he was aware of the one-way status of Garden Street between Jef- ferson and Morgan. The driver stated he was aware and said that once he entered the one-way zone he "just kept on going". The driver stated numerous times that he knew what he had done. Chief Freer reminded him that school was about to dis- miss for the day and many children were present. The driver stated he had done wrong and knew it. Chief Freer issued a City Ordinance citation for improper lane usage (one- way, wrong direction) with a fine of $120. You can't trust your dog to watch your food.
